According to Baccarat rules, the game has only one objective in order to win: to guess which of the two hands in play (player or banker) will have a better value or if there will be a tie between them.
It may sound similar to Blackjack, however, with Baccarat you can bet on the banker’s hand and not the player’s, while with 21 you can only win if you beat the dealer directly.
These are the steps of a round of Baccarat:
- Place your bet on the Player, Banker or Tie box.
- The dealer deals two initial cards to the player and the banker.
- More cards can be dealt depending on the scores on the table.
- If you hit the winning hand, you receive the reward depending on the stake.
As you can see, the only thing you can do is decide the amount of your bet and which hand to bet on. Beyond this, the game follows a series of steps that you couldn’t directly influence.
Card values
Before you go to play, you need to know what the values of the Baccarat cards are, since these will determine which is the most valuable hand and, therefore, the one that will win the round.
These are:
- 10, J, Q and K: 0 points.
- AS: 1 point.
- 2 – 9: your value.
Keep in mind that the highest possible value in Baccarat is 9 points; if a hand’s score goes over this limit, then only the second digit is considered. For example, a 13 is really worth 3.
Don’t worry, the sum of the cards is done automatically, so you can’t go wrong. Depending on the initial two cards, the dealer may have to deal a third.
Baccarat game rules on the third card
A very important part of learning how to play Baccarat online is knowing when a third card will be dealt and that is, even though everything is done automatically, it is only recommended to bet once you know all the rules.
The player’s hand is very easy to understand, since he will only have to ask for a card when he has a score between 0 and 5 points. From 6 onwards it should be planted automatically. This applies to banking.
